Henton at Elon is a senior residential community adjacent to the campus of Elon University. It is one
of the first retirement communities in the United States specifically located within walking
distance of a campus so that residents could take advantage of the academic, athletic and
cultural activities available. Additionally, the safety and security of a small college town
is an attraction for older people.
Henton comprises 40 single family homes designed to "work" for people as they age. Residents
own their own homes and have free access to common areas. A homeowners association sees that all
grounds are maintained. Residents pay a monthly fee for this service.
Henton was conceived and developed by the owners of Blakey Hall and The Hamlet at Blakey. Residents come from the local area and from a number of different states. Some are retirees and others
are empty nesters who still work. Henton is a sold out community but homes do come to market
for resale. If you are interested, call 336-506-2301 and talk with Linda Vaughn about your needs.
